black frame window treatment

All at once a classic style and an emerging trend, black window frames are a lovely modern statement pieces. But since they are out of the ordinary, how do you choose just the right type of window treatments to pair with them?

Where To Start

Before you dive all in, it’s important to have your bases covered. Outside of color, the right window treatment can depend on functionality. What is the purpose of the room? What is the style of the room? Is the room highly furnished? Beyond the window frame, you want any treatment to match the existing aesthetic.

Also keep in mind how large your windows are. Longer, grander window treatments look excellent against a large window but can make every proportion feel off-kilter against a small window. Black frames make a statement as is, so make sure your treatments match the vibe. Conversely, you may find pairing an intricate set of shutters looks better against your existing style on a smaller scale.

Types Of Window Treatments

Once you’ve got an idea of what types of window treatments work in your room, you can focus more on colors and styles that also align with black frames. Typically, a darker frame is the focal point. As such, plain, solid neutrals tend to be the most compatible coverings.

Long, sheer white or off-white curtains balance well against a darker frame. Neutral toned panels or roller shades also provide a nice, clean contrast. Shades are also an excellent option for black window frames. because you have a lot of control, you can let in as much or as little light as you like, while their horizontal lines look clean next to a darker framing.

Are you ready to set off your own black window frames? Make an appointment today and find the right window treatments to match.
